Observe your body from toes to head, and from head to toes.

Hello!
I am alive, barely, but I am. Actually at the moment I'm stuck into a cubicle writing on the latest model of 'Samtron 45Bn', so tired that I might actually fall asleep in any second.

Anyway! So if I was worried not to have a fixed plan I was quite wrong... As soon as I arrived I was welcomed with a driver (Mr. Edwin) picking me up at the airport at an envelope with a welcoming letter and a sort of schedule for the next few days.
Everything was alright with the flight, besides some problem at immigration which I managed to solve I don't know how. According to the schedule Saturday I didn't have anything to do, so I slept most of the day and finally met Mr Rangachar's family, after spending 3 hours talking with his mother in law who gave me my first 'wise life lessons' since I'm here.
Then during the evening... I took my first yoga lesson! Ahah, I loved it.
At the moment, and probably until the end of the week, I'm staying at one of his 'guesthouses' just next to his home, where apparently they put all the foreign business partners that come here. There are insects as big as me, and I have counted 3 spiders in my bathroom, but I'm trying to keep calm. For those of you who know me, you will understand how hard it is for me!

On Sunday I woke up at 4am to go on a 1-day tour of Mysone, from 6:30am till 11:30pm. I was expecting it to be full of old fat westerners, but instead I was indeed the only foreigner, which left me a bit lost to be honest. Still tired from jetleg/not much sleep, alone on this bus full of Indians with which I would have spent a whole day - not to say I was really looked at as some kind of alien.
However, I managed to enter in the right mind set and not care and have fun. So I took loads of pictures (which I hope I will eventually upload) and met some really nice people, between which a young family with whom I stayed most of the time.
I was shocked by the price of life here, it's so cheap I'm thinking to move here definitely!!

Finally, this morning my fate was decided. Well, almost. I have just met the woman from Sampark, who illustrated me with the various projects they're undertaking and gave me something like 10 years of annual reports to read tomorrow. I started to read some there, but my eyes were literally closing for the tiredness so I chose to go home and do it tonight - still have to take my nap :(
Tomorrow I will go back, clarify any question I have and check out the creches here in Bangalore, where they teach informal education to kids. Hopefully by then I will also know whether I'll do some 'field work' or the office one, which I think will be very probable - unfortunately.

Here it rains, a lot, even though I found out it's not the rainy season. This is a further proof that the bad weather follows me! Still really humid though, in fact I am happy to inform you that I have now a afro hairstyle! Yep. Not cool.

Besides everything I feel good, I really like this place; everything just seems to make sense the way it is. I could see loads of Western influences (my god Vodafone has ads everywhere) but it looks like they have included and adjusted them to their own traditions just naturally.

I should probably go now as I am melting and Mr. Edwin is waiting for me outside. I'm aware of having written really badly and without a logical sens, so forgive me!
Let me know if you have any question/suggestion, I will try to get on the internet soon and reply to you.

  1. Is the title related with your yoga class?
I'm glad you're happy with the experience! Don't worry about the spiders... Most of the time they more afraid of you than you are of them!
    Keep letting us updated!
